This is soo cool:
Hundreds of men and women dawned heels of all shapes and sizes for the second annual Stiletto Sprint. Benefitting the Susan G. Komen foundation and the Garden of Hope and Courage, 5th Avenue South was a sea of pink on Friday evening. The race, though only spanning a few short blocks, was an exciting one, heels flew off mid sprint, as the front of the pack charged towards the finish line. Festivities continued through the evening with an after party at Cafe and Bar Lucrat and the Pink is Power street party on 5th. |

PANCREATIC CANCER ACTION NETWORK: Posted on Sunday, October 09, 2011 5:28 PM
The past doesn't drive me—it's the present and future that inspire me. My name is Greg Petrosewicz. I lost my mother to pancreatic cancer in 2001. I can't change that, but I can work to make sure that nobody else loses his or her mother to this deadly disease. That is why I am a Volunteer for Progress with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. I know I am making a real difference through my volunteer efforts to advance research, support patients and create hope. As the volunteer Affiliate Coordinator for the Austin Affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, I can tell you I am encouraged to meet people from my community who are passionate about making a difference and want to fight hard to change the course of history for pancreatic cancer. |
